New macOS ClickFix Attack Silently Mounts DMGs

A new macOS attack silently downloads and launches info-stealing malware from fake disk images. This can happen if you open a suspicious file or click on a malicious link.

What it looks like

• macOS not responding to requests
• macOS not syncing with other systems

How to fix it

1. Avoid opening suspicious files or clicking on malicious links.
2. Keep your macOS system and all software up-to-date.
3. Use antivirus software to scan for malware.
4. Restart your macOS system in safe mode if issues persist.
5. If issues persist, contact Apple support for further assistance.
