iOS 26.5 Touch ID Issue: iPad 9th Gen Users Affected

The Touch ID feature on an iPad 9th gen isn't working properly. When trying to set up a new Touch ID, it recognizes about 90% of the fingerprint, but not the middle part, even if the fingerprint is placed correctly and the iPad is clean.

What it looks like

• Touch ID not working properly
• Fingerprint not recognized

How to fix it

1. Go to Settings.
2. Click Touch ID & Passcode.
3. Click Reset Touch ID & Passcode.
4. Make sure your iPad is clean and free of any debris that might be interfering with the fingerprint reader.
5. Try setting up Touch ID again.
